The 1999 Stanley Cup Final NHL championship series was contested by the Eastern Conference champion Buffalo Sabres and the Western Conference champion Dallas Stars. It was the 106th year of the Stanley Cup. The Stars were led by captain Derian Hatcher, coach Ken Hitchcock and goalie Ed Belfour. It was the third appearance for the Stars’ franchise, and their first since moving to Dallas from Minnesota in 1993. Minnesota lost the finals to the New York Islanders in 1981 and to Pittsburgh in 1991. This was the first time since 1994 that the Finals did not end in a sweep.…

The 1989 Stanley Cup Final was between the Calgary Flames and the Montreal Canadiens, the top two teams during the 1988–89 NHL regular season. As of 2008, this is the most recent time that the first two seeds met in the Stanley Cup Final. It is also the most recent time that the Final series was played entirely in Canada. Jean Béliveau won a record total of 17 Stanley Cup rings… 10 as a player and 7 under different administrative roles for the Montreal Canadiens. Not much is known about this ring.  All info we could find hinted that the ring was given to mister Beliveau upon his retirement to honor him and his 10 Stanley Cup conquests. The Black Hawks would win the best-of-seven series four games to two to win their third Stanley Cup, their first since 1938. As of 2009, this is the most recent Black Hawks Cup championship.
